Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? When thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Isaiah 58:6-7

Who we are and what we do here at Border Missions

Join us on facebook!Border Missions was founded for the purpose of bringing the word of God and specifically the gospel to those of the Texas Mexico border. While in the pursuit of that goal, the founders, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Morgan, saw the physical needs of those in the area. They began to work toward providing food and clothing for those in need. Today we continue that mission, both in introducing people to the gospel of Jesus Christ and helping those in physical need. We pick up, sort, and store donated food from various donors both individuals and companies in the Rio Grande valley area. We also receive and dispense donated clothing. Thursdays we serve a hot meal before our service after which we give out the food and clothing.

Our Current NewsletterWe do have cold storage capabilities and are able to hold perishable items so that everyone is receiving food that is fresh. Everyone is welcome to come and visit our facility, so if you are interested in being a part of our work whether through support, donating items or volunteering, please get in contact with us and come see what it is that God is doing at Border Missions.

A Short Word From Our
Directors and Workers

As Border Missions looks forward to beginning its 58th year of service for the Lord Jesus Christ to the people along the US-Mexican border, the challenges are great. Drug cartel violence and economic uncertainties continue to place increased hardships on the people and upon the mission. Increased restrictions make it harder and harder for ministries to get food and clothing into Mexico.

As you include Border Missions in your prayers, please specifically ask that the monthly operating expenses be met. We know that God is able and that as His people yield themselves to Him through prayer the needs of the mission will be met.

Meet the Directors of Border Missions

Jerry and Albertia McKnight
Jerry and Albertia McKnight

Since July of 2010 the work continues under the direction of Jerry and Albertia McKnight. The McKnights are from Mt. Enterprise, Texas, a small town in northeast Texas. Jerry's first mission experience was over twenty years ago while he was an associate pastor in the Houston, Texas area. He accompanied a missionary and helped in giving out food and clothing to the people of a very poor village near San Fernando, Mexico. From that very first mission outreach God placed in his heart a love for the Mexican people and a burden to help them. Albertia joined in this burden, and from that point on trips were planned to Mexico as often as possible, bringing mission groups, helping to build churches, supplying food and clothing, and most importantly bringing the love of Christ to all that would listen.

In 2003, knowing that God was calling them to Mexico, they both quit their secular jobs and moved to the Rio Grande Valley to work full time with a ministry in Mexico. Since that time, they have had the opportunity of helping to build a Bible School and several churches in the interior of Mexico.

The McKnights thank God for the privilege of being directors of Border Missions where they can continue to serve the Lord thru supplying the physical and spiritual needs to those on both sides of the border.
